Through the eyes of a Piñata

Updated: Jun 23, 2020

Today in Mrs Lunn's writing group, we were focusing on Perspective writing. We had to pretend that we were a piñata at a child's birthday party.

Have a read of our amazing pieces of writing...

I was bursting at the seams. Stuffed full of chocolate, candies, lollies. When I look, I see crazy kids roaming around with candies everywhere. Tripping all over each other shouting and screaming. Everyone's feeling so excited. Then i heard the mum say ¨Game time!" Everyone rushed into a line to smash the piñata. The first person wore the blindfold and held the wooden stick and smacked!! ¨Ouch," I said. The kids scrambled around the floor grabbing all the candies and screaming. Munch munch. They crunched on the candy. Imagine all those sugar cruising through their veins making them hyperactive. By Timi

My time is nearly up. Sugar-crazed kids come up to me and ask, "what candy is inside of this piñata?"

I hear the parents yell that the game is starting. All the children line up as if they are soldiers. They are about to burst me open. The first kid goes… he misses. It's the birthday boy’s turn. He hits me. All the monsters get my sugary treats. All my candy is gone. The Dad puts me in the rubbish. By Blake

It was near the end of my piñata life. I can see kids playing party games. ”Time for the piñata Caleb." shouted the child's mum. She passed him the baseball bat. Smack. Caleb got me on his first try. All my precious candy fell out. It was the end of my life. By Caleb

The parents are nearing me… a rope in their hands. The rumours are true. They hang innocent piñatas for the sheer entertainment of their youngsters. A while later, children surround me. This must be their sacrifice ritual. A guy wearing a pointed party hat and holding a club, emerges. This must be their executioner. My time is up... By Oliver

My time is up in no less than eight minutes.

I look around and see fuelled kids running through the house like crazy. The mum gives the cricket bat of doom to the birthday boy. Someone blind folds him. I can see him spinning around. He gets dizzy and stumbles towards me. He gives a mighty swing. SMACK!!!! He got me. My body falls to the ground. My candy filled inside explodes. This is my end. By Ethan W

My time is running out… I can see those sugar-crazed kids ready to destroy me.

The hyper kids leap around the corner. I look dead hanging there. The kids whack my body with a steal baseball bat. My precious food all falls out. By Riley M
