We have had a wonderful start to our time in Poutama for the year. We have been busy learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. The Treaty was a set of rules so that Maori and Pakeha people could live together peacefully. We decided that we needed to have some rules in our class. On Friday, we got into groups and discussed our ideas for the rules that we need to have in Poutama to keep our class working well and for us to all get along. The teachers were super impressed with how we were able to organise ourselves into our groups and how respectful we were when listening to the ideas of others. Here are some photos of us in action... Our next step is to group all our ideas and come up with three or four key rules that we are all happy to abide by. You might like to discuss our suggestions for the rules, with us at home
